Warm, comforting and incredibly easy to make, this Berry and Apple Crumble is a winter favourite that's perfect for sharing with family and friends.
Ingredients
1kg mixed frozen berries
2 apples, cut into small pieces
130g cubed butter
¾ cup plain flour
⅔ cup oats
⅓ cup slivered almonds
⅓ cup coconut
¾ cup caster sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
Vanilla icecream (to serve)
Cream (to serve)
Directions
Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius.
Place your frozen berries in a saucepan over medium heat, and low to defrost for a few minutes. Then, add in your chopped apples, and cook for a further 5 minutes until they begin to soften.
Place your flour and butter in a bowl and rub together with your fingers until breadcrumbs resemble. Next, stir in your oats, almonds, coconut, sugar, cinnamon and salt.
Place your berries and apples in the bottom of your baking dish (approx 28 X 25cm) and top with your crumble. Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and/or cream.
